HUNTINGTON ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥” Mountain Mindful, an apparel and furnishing store located on Vernon Street in Huntington, has launched a special T-shirt to raise money for the areas of West Virginia most damaged by recent flooding.
ItÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s available for up until March 8. Orders will begin shipping two to three weeks after that.
ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥œA lot of our friends and family have been impacted by this, so it was a personal thing, but also, Mountain Mindful is very community-focused, and so when certain things arise and we think that we might be able to do something to help even a little bit we lean in,ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ said Leslie Norris, director of Mountain Mindful.
The black shirt is made of 50% recycled polyester, 25% organic ring-spun cotton and 25% modal. The center design created by Stephen Schrock features mountains and two hands over a river. The inscription across the bottom reads ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥œWith helping hands, we build stronger communities.ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥
ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥œHe wanted to create an image that reflected community and the strength and resilience that you see in our region, folks have pulled together for these kinds of issues always,ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ Norris said.
Proceeds will be donated to organizations providing critical relief in the hardest-hit areas including ; in Oceana; (RAIL) in Wyoming County; and , West Virginia, and Pike County, Kentucky.
ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥œThose folks are all doing really good work on the ground and we just wanted to contribute in any way that we could,ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ she said.
