HUNTINGTON ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥” Preparation for Ribfest 2025 is underway.
The Huntington Ribfest is scheduled for Sept. 4-7 at Harris Riverfront Park in downtown Huntington, the same weekend Marshall football plays Missouri State at home.
The Charleston Ribfest is the following weekend, Sept. 11-14 at Ben Morris Field in Marmet.
This yearÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s event will have a ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥œkidÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s zoneÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ with 15 to 20 inflatables, carnival rides, a petting zoo and face painting.
The organizer, Bill Picozzi, is currently looking for entertainers and vendors for the event.
ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥œ(Mayor) Patrick Farrell was very supportive of us bringing the Ribfest back. We had 16,000 people last year, and weÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™re looking to have over 30,000 people this year,ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ Picozzi said.
Thursday night will be country music night, Friday will be rock and roll night and Saturday will be oldie goldie night. There will be a wing-eating contest on Sunday with cash prizes and a trophy.
ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥œItÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s gonna bring an enormous amount of revenue to the businesses, the economy of Huntington and tax revenue,ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ he said.

ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥œThe Ribfest will consist of world-class barbecue rib vendors from around the country serving the best barbecue ribs, chicken, and sausage youÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™ll ever eat, along with any other food vendors for people that donÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™t like to eat ribs. We have other food vendors, Chinese food, Mexican food, funnel cakes, desserts, Italian sausages, so thereÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™ll be plenty of food vendors,ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ he said.
