ASHLAND ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥” Community Hospice will host an observance for National Grief Awareness Day on Friday, Aug. 30.
The event is planned for 2 to 4 p.m. at the Port of AshlandÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s riverfront boat ramp on 15th Street.
This event is open to anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one and not just those served by hospice.
ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥œCommunity Hospice will provide each guest with an eco-friendly balloon that includes a tag for writing a special message to your loved one. Each balloon represents the individual and collective grief of the community,ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ Community Hospice stated in a news release.
The balloons will be available from 2 until 3:30 p.m., with the balloon release planned for 4 pm.

Community Hospice, founded in 1979, is a non-profit organization committed to providing end-of-life care to the residents of eastern Kentucky and southern Ohio, serving nine counties throughout the region. Community Hospice serves more than 1,500 patients each year and provides bereavement and grief counseling to anyone in the community.
