BARBOURSVILLE ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥” Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of MedicineÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s Standing Out in Our Field event raised more than $120,000 for its student scholarship endowment. The 10th annual event was held Saturday at the Barboursville Soccer Complex.
More than 500 guests enjoyed the ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥œViva Las VegasÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ themed fundraising event and outdoor dining experience featuring music by Santa Cruz, dancing and a gourmet menu by Cabell Huntington HospitalÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s Executive Chef Don Sallada. More than 100 current and future medical students were volunteer servers.
ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥œTen years isnÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™t just a milestone ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥” itÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s a legacy honoring a decade of generosity, community, and support for our medical students,ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ said Linda Holmes, associate dean for development and alumni affairs at the School of Medicine. ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥œStanding Out in Our Field has grown into a tradition with a powerful purpose: raising essential scholarship funds that help future physicians follow their calling by easing the burden of financial barriers.ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥
