HUNTINGTON ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥” A man who entered the Cabell County courthouse last year wearing body armor and carrying a firearm will have a status hearing on Tuesday, Feb. 6.
Jeffery Ivan Manigault, 50, was taken into custody after 6 a.m. Oct. 5, 2023, and charged with receiving/transferring a stolen vehicle.
According to information provided by the prosecuting attorneyÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s office Tuesday, he was released last year on account of acquiring his own attorney and was given a date for a hearing.
When he did not show up, he was charged with failure to process, or show up to court.
The following month, he was arrested again after 8 p.m. on Nov. 8, 2023.
When he was required to show up at the Cabell County magistrate court, according to the prosecuting attorneyÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s office, he showed up a day early wearing body armor and carrying a firearm.
He was also jailed on a body attachment warrant, which is given when a person is in contempt of court by failing to show up to their hearing and held in custody before being brought to court.
He is now being charged with wearing body armor, possession of a controlled substance, failure to process, possession of a firearm on the premises of a court of law, felon in possession of a firearm and receiving/transferring a stolen vehicle.
The prosecuting attorneyÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s office said Manigault will have a chance to accept a plea deal. If he turns down the deal, a hearing will continue as planned.
He is now being held in Western Regional Jail on a $77,200 bond.
