The Timberwolves boys (4-0) defeated Portsmouth 72-44 Friday and Galloway Westland (Ohio) 87-77 Saturday in the Ironton Classic high school basketball showcase.
Harrison Riggs scored 25 points and snagged 10 rebounds as Spring Valley beat the Trojans (0-4). Clay Robertson scored 21 points.
Connie Thomas paced Portsmouth with 17 points. Malachi Loper chipped in 11 points.
The Timberwolves overcame an early four-point deficit to beat the Cougars (2-5). Robertson tallied 27 points, hitting seven 3-pointers. Colten Caldwell scored 19 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Riggs scored 19 points and Jalyn Abercrombie 14.
Phoenix Funderburke and Breaker Heller each totaled 25 points for Westland. Austin Jones contributed 10 points.

Russell then knocked off East Carter 60-45. Gabby Oborne scored 17 points, Kouns 15 and Abby Sharp 12. Kouns grabbed 10 rebounds.

Wayne (2-2) defeated Rowan County 45-40. Brooke Adkins scored 18 points and Jayce Sammons 14 for the Pioneers.
