ROME TOWNSHIP, Ohio ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥” Bailey Russell is known for her 3-point shooting prowess on the Fairland High School girls basketball team.
The senior did one better on Tuesday in soccer, scoring four goals to lead the Dragons (2-0-1 overall and in Ohio Valley Conference play) over Chesapeake 6-0 at Jim Mayo Memorial Stadium.
Russell scored her first at 10:21.
Her goal at the 20-minute mark gave Fairland a 2-0 halftime advantage.
Russell then tacked on goals at 51:17 and 54:59 to make it 4-0.
Emily Ferguson and Annbelle Wyant each scored in the final 20 minutes to set the score.
The Panthers fell to 0-2 overall and in the OVC.
HUNTINGTON ST. JOE 2, POINT PLEASANT 1: The visiting Irish won a rematch of the Class A/AA Region 4 championship game.
Riley Blake scored both St. Joe goals, one 14:22 into the contest, the other at 21:34.
Lola Tolliver set the score at 33:43.
Alana Day earned the win in goal with five saves. Lindsey Hacker made four saves for the Big Blacks.
ASHLAND 9, MENIFEE COUNTY 4: Meisha Salisbury scored five goals and assisted on two as the Cats (3-3) beat the Wildcats in Frenchburg, Kentucky.
Marissa Baker scored one goal and made two assists for Ashland. Lainey Hankins and Hayden Workman also scored. Kylee Adams and Pyper Lemaster each contributed an assist.
Mallorie Caudill made two saves to pick up the win.
Miley Stull scored twice and made an assist for Menifee County (4-2). Shaddix Lewis chipped in two goals.
LAWRENCE COUNTY 5, PRESTONSBURG 1: Emmalynn Kitts made 11 saves to lead the Bulldogs (3-3) over the Blackcats (3-2) in Louisa, Kentucky.
Kathy Minhier and Addison Howard each scored twice. Violet Preece added a goal and Reagan Webb and assist.
Boys soccer
IRONTON ST. JOE 9, FAIRLAND 1: The Flyers jumped to a 6-0 lead and rolled by the Dragons in Ironton.
St. Joe took the lead on a goal by Beckham Waginger off an assist by his brother Barrett Waginger at 35:08. An own goal made it 2-0. Mason Weber then scored two goal, one off an assist by Carson Lyons, to make it 5-0 by halftime.
Lyons found the back of the net off a Jack Whaley assist to begin the second half scoring. Eli WhaleyÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s goal made it 6-0.
Josh Hunt broke up the shutout with a goal with 22:08 left to play. Lyons, Andy Listerman and Sophie Rowe rounded out the scoring.
Peyton Ford made five saves to earn the win.
EAST CARTER 1, ASHLAND 0: Grant Menix scored the only goal at the Raiders (5-1) topped the host Tomcats (2-2).
Micah Brown made nine saves for East Carter.
MASON COUNTY 2, BOYD COUNTY 0: Landon Frederick made 10 saves to lift the Royals (3-2) to a triumph over the Lions (2-2) in Cannonsburg, Kentucky.
Mason Tackett scored both goals. Keagan Taylor and Noah Gardner each had an assist.

CABELL MIDLAND 153, LAWRENCE COUNTY 165: Wyatt Maynard earned medalist honors with an even-par 36 at the Knights defeated the Bulldogs at the 6,887-yard Esquire golf course in Barboursville.
Jackson Foster shot 38 for Cabell Midland. Carson Sargent carded a 39 and Andrew James a 40.
Reece Hughes paced Lawrence County with a 39. Ashton West fired a 41, Alex Meadows 42 and Tylan Perry 43.
Volleyball
ASHLAND 3, SPRING VALLEY 1: The Kittens improved to 4-0 with a victory over the homestanding Timberwolves.
Ashland won 25-10, 19-25, 25-12, 25-16.
RUSSELL 3, EAST CARTER 0: The host Red Devils (6-3) swept the Raiders 25-7, 24-5, 25-10 in Marvin Meredith Gym.
Sydney Sizemore made 12 assists and Brooklyn Sizemore 10. Nyna Vordran recorded eight aces.
East Carter fell to 2-3.
RACELAND 3, EAST CARTER 0: The Rams improved to 3-0 in a sweep of the Raiders in Grayson, Kentucky.
Peyton Mackie made 15 assists and Camerynn Gillum 11 for Raceland. Allayson Rigsby added 10 kills.
LAWRENCE COUNTY 3, FAIRVIEW 0: The Bulldogs (3-4) defeated the Eagles 25-10, 25-17, 25-18 in Louisa, Kentucky.
Aryn Huffman totaled 10 digs and 10 assists for Lawrence County. Shelby Compton contributed 14 digs.
Karly Caldwell made 10 assists for Fairview (3-2).

CANCELATION: Green High SchoolÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s home football game with Southeastern has been canceled because of the BobcatsÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™ limited number of players because of injuries.
The game was to have been played Thursday in Franklin Furnace, Ohio.
