PORTSMOUTH, Ohio ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥” Portsmouth began defense of its Ohio Valley Conference co-championship with a 60-24rout of Ironton Saturday in girls high school basketball.

The Trojans (2-0 overall, 1-0 OVC) jumped to a 26-5 lead and never were seriously challenged. Portsmouth led 47-11 by halftime, then let up in the second half, playing to a 13-13 tie.
