HUNTINGTON ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥” HuntingtonÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s boys soccer team (10-1-1) celebrated Senior Night with a 6-0 victory over Spring Valley (2-6-2) at soggy Scotland Yard on Thursday.
Andrew Warner scored the opening goal off a pass from Parker Riley at 25:14. Less than 30 seconds later, the Highlanders benefited from a Timberwolves own goal. With 2:41 left in the first half, Riley scored.
In the second half, Riley, Jeff Biederman and Shawn Horgan scored.
FAIRLAND 5, CHESAPEAKE 2: Trevor LochowÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s hat trick provided the difference in the DragonsÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™ triumph at Jim Mayo Memorial Stadium.
Gabe PolcynÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s penalty kick 50 seconds into the game put the Dragons (9-4, 6-1 Ohio Valley Conference) up 1-0. Lochow scored his first goal at 16:32, then after the Panthers scored, struck again 7:03 before halftime. Mitchell Dunlap made it 4-1 with a goal at 36:51.
Chesapeake (6-3-1, 5-3-1) pulled within 4-2 before Lochow found the net again at 59:24.
IRONTON ST. JOE 1, LUCASVILLE VALLEY 0: The Flyers took sole possession of the Southern Ohio Conference Division I lead with a triumph over the host Indians.
St. Joe improved to 11-2 and 5-0 in the SOC. Valley fell to 5-3-1 and 3-1.
Carson Lyons scored the only goal on a free kick at 21:48. Beckham Waginger made five saves to earn the win. The IndiansÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™ Hunter Sparks made a trio of stops.
POINT PLEASANT 4, HERBERT HOOVER 0: Jarren Reed scored twice, the first time with 4 seconds left in the first half, the second with 2:51 remaining in the game in Point Pleasant, West Virginia.
Anthony Bertagnoli and Alex Schrader each scored once. Lucas Beckett made one save to pick up the win.
The Big Blacks improved to 6-5, while the Huskies dropped to 7-4-1.
Girls soccer
FAIRLAND 9, CHESAPEAKE 2: Molly Dunlap scored three goals to help the Dragons (6-4, 6-1 OVC) defeat the host Panthers (1-10, 0-7).
Both teams started quickly. Chesapeake led 1-0 before Annabelle Wyant scored at 2:24 to tie it. DunlapÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s first goal gave Fairland a 2-1 lead at 6:58. Joelie Jarrell added a pair of goals, as did Angela Li. Kamryn Barnitz scored once.
BOYD COUNTY 5, HUNTINGTON ST. JOE 0: Faith Burnside scored a trio of goals and assisted on one as the Lions (14-2) shut out the Irish (4-9) at the YMCA Kennedy Center in Huntington.
Aubree Moore scored one goal and assisted on two. Addison Miller chipped in one goal. Sophia Stevens picked up the win in the net with a pair of saves.
POINT PLEASANT 1, HERBERT HOOVER 0: Reece OliverÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s successful penalty kick at 20:03 was the difference in the game in Elkview, West Virginia.
Kate McCutcheon made eight saves in the shutout.
The Big Blacks improved to 5-2-2. The Huskies dipped to 6-3-1.

IRONTON WINS SECTIONAL: The Fighting Tigers shot 313 to win a Division II Southeast Sectional tournament at the Portsmouth Elks Country Club in McDermott, Ohio.
IrontonÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s Hunter Freeman fired a 1-over-par 37-36 ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥” 73 on the 6,701-yard course to earn medalist honors. Freeman was backed by Elijah FordÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s 76, Carson BlankenshipÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s 78, Judah BarnesÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™ 86 and Silas KeyesÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™ 88.
Fairland placed second with a 326, led by Jeremiah Fizer and Kyle Salyer, each with a 78. Gallia Academy, paced by 78s from Cash Jones and Braeden Cardwell, finished third with a 332. Coal Grove, behind Joel BealsÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™ 79, took fourth at 336.
The Tigers, Dragons, Blue Devils and Hornets advance to the district tournament.
Piketon was fifth at 337, followed by Chesapeake and Oak Hill at 368, Minford 380, Wheelersburg 389, Wellston 392, Waverly 394, Northwest 404 and South Point 443. Portsmouth didnÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™t field enough golfers for a team score.
Individual qualifiers for the district tournament were Brevin Woolridge of Piketon with a 78, J.J. Smith of Minford with a 78, Hunter Skaggs of Piketon with a 78 and Caden Corkerton of Waverly with an 83.
IRONTON ST. JOE QUALIFIES: The Flyers qualified for the district tournament with a fifth-place finish in a Southeast District tournament at the Big Beaver Creek Golf Club in Piketon, Ohio.
Ironton St. Joe shot 356 on the par-71, 6,817-yard course. Eastern Meigs won the event with a 319 behind medalist Kasey SavoyÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s 71. Waterford placed second at 324, Portsmouth West third at 342 and South Webster fourth at 351.
Samuel Walker led St. Joe with an 80. Jayden Fields shot 90, Christopher Phillips 91, Peyton Ford 95 and Carson Willis 106.
Rock HillÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s Jaxon Bridenthal qualified as an individual with an 83. Symmes ValleyÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s Josh Gibson made the cut with an 84. Portsmouth ClayÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s Cayden McKenzie with an 85 and Evan Rider with an 86 also qualified.
Portsmouth Clay finished sixth with a 360 ahead of Rock Hill at 364, Miller 402, Symmes Valley and Belpre 408, Southern 409, South Gallia 415 and Green 478. Eastern Pike, Federal Hocking and Trimble had too few golfers to qualify for a team score.

BOYD COUNTY 3, EAST CARTER 0: Laura Chaffin assisted on 16 points to help the Lions (12-11) beat the Raiders 25-11, 25-12, 25-13 in Cannonsburg, Kentucky.
Baylee Moore made 16 digs, Payton Jones 10 kills and Casie Porter 10 assists.
East Carter fell to 11-11.
RACELAND 3, FAIRVIEW 0: Kody Haddix handed out 25 assists and Allayson Rigsby made 19 kills to pace the host Rams (13-12) by the Eagles 25-18, 25-11, 25-14.
Bentley Rogers issued 18 assists. Peyton Mackie chipped in 14 digs and Rigsby 10. Fairview fell to 6-13.
