Starter Tucker DeLisle (West Virginia), winner Jett Hope (Oklahoma State) and Carlos Jazmin (Bethune-Cookman), who earned a save, limited the River Riders to four hits.
Elizabethton (8-10) had one hit after the third inning.
Sal Maneo (Ohio State) scored both runs for the Coal Cats (7-10), who played errorless baseball. He scored on an error the first inning, then crossed the plate in the sixth on a single by Ryan Maggy (West Virginia).
Maggy went 2 for 3. Mineo was 1 for 2 with two runs scored, one walk and a stolen base.
Hope struck out six in three innings of one-hit ball.
Donte Lewis (Kansas State) took the loss, allowing one unearned run and two hits, with seven strikeouts and one walk in five innings.

Yost wins WVGA senior event
Glenn Yost of Barboursville won the WVGA Senior Series golf tournament on Wednesday at the Fincastle golf course in Bluefield, Virginia.
Yost shot 1-over-par 71 on the 6,357-yard layout.
Wheeler shoots age on birthday
Bill Wheeler, 75, of Barboursville celebrated his birthday in grand fashion in Lavalette.
Wheeler shot his age on Sunday in a round of golf at the Sugarwood golf course.
