HURRICANE ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥” The City of Hurricane Independence Day Celebration 2025 will celebrate AmericaÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s birthday beginning with a parade at 4 p.m. Friday, July 4, from Midland Trail to Main Street, Hurricane.
Following the parade, there will be an evening of free fun at the Putnam County Bank Sports Complex at Hurricane Bridge Park (1 Bridge Park Way; park entrance is located beside First Baptist Church on Main Street).
Events will include inflatables and games, up-close magic, balloon twisting, patriotic sand art, cotton candy, sno cones, ice cream, watermelon and more ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥” all free.
The event will end at 10 p.m. with fireworks being launched from Water Tank Hill ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥” which is viewable from the event area at Hurricane Bridge Park.
Therapy horses to visit Eleanor Library
ELEANOR ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥” Itty Bitty Therapy horses are riding into town with some of their equine friends.
The community is invited to meet the horses and their trainers, and learn more about equine therapy and these darling ponies at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, at the Eleanor Library.

Cool vehicles of all kinds will park near the Poca Library for visitors to explore and experience. See a school bus, bucket truck, fire truck, garbage truck and more in the middle school parking lot behind the library.
