HUNTINGTON ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥” Huntington ChildrenÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s Museum partnered with Prime Engineering on Saturday to take local children on a global engineering adventure.
A free STEAM-focused exploration of Eight Engineering Wonders of the World was set up at Pullman Square, offering attendees an opportunity to ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥œvisitÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ Egypt, Spain, China and more while investigating transportation techniques, paper kite creations, aqueducts and Great Pyramids.
Huntington ChildrenÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s Museum, a nonprofit organization, aspires to embrace ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥œthe natural curiosity of all children by creating child-centered spaces that promote exploration and a love for learning through play.ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥
Though currently in the fundraising and construction stage of its physical museum space at 1700 Washington Ave., Huntington ChildrenÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s Museum has conducted free pop-up events for more than 3,000 children around the Tri-State area since its incorporation in 2021, according to its board members.
For its next activity, the ChildrenÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s Museum will team up with Marshall UniversityÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s Office of Student Affairs to host SandFest for a second year.
On Sunday, Sept. 10 from 3-7 p.m., families can gather at the Memorial Fountain on campus to watch Marshall organizations, local businesses and community members compete in a tabletop sand sculpture competition for the ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥œGolden Shovel.ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥
The event will also feature a sand pit, sandcastle making stations, STEAM activities and more for all ages.
