HUNTINGTON ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥” A large quantity of methamphetamine was seized Tuesday, Nov. 26, during a traffic stop in Huntington, according to a news release from the police department.
Members of the Huntington Violent Crime/Drug Task Force stopped a vehicle as part of drug interdiction operations and took the driver, Robert Earl Cureton Jr., into custody for active federal warrants for distribution of fentanyl and distribution of methamphetamine, according to the release.
During CuretonÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s arrest, Task Force members found a suitcase in his vehicle. The suitcase contained 11.2 pounds of methamphetamine, which has an approximate street value of $50,800, the release states.
The arrest and seizure were part of an ongoing investigation into a drug-trafficking organization based in Detroit that has been operating in the Huntington area.
