IRONTON ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥” An Ashland man has been indicted on rape and burglary charges in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court, according to the office of Lawrence County Prosecuting Attorney Brigham Anderson.
Jonathan Harris, 36, of the 400 block of 29th Street, Ashland, was charged with breaking into a home in Lawrence County on Nov. 28, 2023, and raping a woman. The indictment was returned last week.
There also were three unrelated serious drug cases, Anderson said.
Larry Lee Basenback, 32, of Division Street, Wayne, West Virginia, was charged with possession and trafficking in more than 27 grams of cocaine. aggravated trafficking and possession of drugs (meth), possession and trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound and receiving proceeds of an offense subject to forfeiture proceedings.
Edward Crawford, 37, of the 1500 block of Lawrence Street, Ironton, was indicted on four counts of aggravated trafficking in meth, five counts of trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound, one count of aggravated possession of meth, one count of possession of a fentanyl-related compound and one count of having weapons while under disability (being a felon in possession of a firearm).
A co-defendant, Kaylee M. McKnight, 34, also of the 1500 block of Lawrence Street, Ironton, was indicted on four counts of aggravated trafficking in meth, five counts of trafficking in fentanyl-related compounds, one count of aggravated possession of meth and one count of possession of a fentanyl-related compound.
In other cases:
Dennis A. Davis, 52, of County Road 10A, Pedro, was indicted on charges of having weapons while under disability, assault and failure to appear.
Emily A. Smith, 25, of County Road 104, Chesapeake, was indicted on charges of tampering with evidence and vandalism for cutting off an ankle monitor.
Tony Wilson II, 34, of County Road 5, Ironton, was indicted on charges of having weapons while under disability, felony theft and a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence.
Jason S. Tackett, 44, of Township Road 616, South Point, was indicted on felony driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and aggravated possession of meth.
Charles M. Hutchinson, 36, of Township Road 1482, Chesapeake, was indicted on a charge of aggravated vehicular assault and a misdemeanor charge of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Shawn P. Frechette, also known as Shawn Harris, 45, of the 500 block of 9th Street, Ashland, was indicted on a charge of felony driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The grand jury also returned nine other felony charges that generally, under Ohio law, do not end up with prison sentences.
