HUNTINGTON ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥” Several thousand people showed up for fireworks, food, music and fun at the annual Dawg Dazzle Independence Day celebration at Harris Riverfront Park in Huntington on Thursday night.
ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥œI love getting to hang out with my family and watch the fireworks with my kids,ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ said Megan McDonald, a Huntington native. ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥œThe fireworks are always my favorite part of Fourth of July celebrations.ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥
The celebration, hosted by radio station 93.7 The Dawg had many activities for families. There were food vendors, inflatables for kids to play on, live music and games.
The event was headlined by Matt Stell, a rising country artist from Arkansas, and Corey Hager, a country music star from West Virginia. Local classic rock band MadHouse also performed.
ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥œI loved the music, other than hanging out with my mom it was definitely my favorite part of the night,ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ said Abby Grim. ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥œI love walking around and trying different types of food and doing that with my mom makes it even better.ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥
There was also a concert performed by the Huntington Symphony Orchestra, who finished their performance by singing ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥œCountry Roads,ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ accompanied by many in attendance.
A fireworks display started around 10 p.m. and people all down riverfront park and on top of parking garages looked up and watched during the 30-minute show.
