While the high temperature for the weekend may only be in the low 70s, it soon will be the perfect time to put on some sunscreen and hop in the pool.

April Dawn Sprayground
The April Dawn Sprayground, 1201 Smith St., Milton, is now open. It is free to the public, open 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Saturday and noon-8 p.m. on Sunday.

Pipestem Resort State Park Adventure Lake and Splash Park
Pipestem Resort State Park Adventure Lake and Splash Park, 3405 Pipestem Drive in Pipestem, West Virginia, opened May 20 and will be open until Tuesday, Sept. 2. The park offers three passes: the all-day pass, which is $21 per person; the half-day pass, which is $16 per person; and the full/half day non-swim beach pass, which is $10 per person. The park also offers free admission for children 3 and younger. While there is no age minimum, the park does require all guests to wear a life jacket and complete a waiver form for entry. All day sessions are from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., and half-day sessions are offered from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. or from 2-6 p.m.

Ace Adventure Resort
Ace Adventure Resort is located at 1 Concho Road, Oak Hill, West Virginia, and will be open from Saturday, May 24, to Tuesday, Sept. 2, from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. The park offers a variety of different day passes, including the water park full-day pass, priced at $32.95 for adults and $27.95 for children between 6 and 15; and an Ace Adventure half day pass, priced at $22.95 for adults and $17.95 for children between 6 and 15 with the option of staying from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., or 3-8 p.m.

A.D. Lewis Community Center Pool
A.D. Lewis Community Center Pool, 1450 A.D. Lewis Ave. in Huntington, is free to all. It opens at 5 p.m. May 23. Hours are 1-6 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays, and 2-6 p.m. Sundays.

Guyan Estates Pool
The Guyan Estates Pool, 254 Bartow Drive in Barboursville, will open Saturday, May 24. It will be open Mondays through Sundays from noon-7 p.m. Daily admission is $5 for those 3 and older, and ages 2 and younger can swim for free. Membership options are also available for families, which are $160; doubles, which are $120; singles, which are $80; and seniors, which are $50. Additionally, the pool offers three-hour private parties from 7-10 p.m. for $200, and two-hour private parties from 7-9 p.m. for $150. Both allow up to 50 swimmers, include lifeguards and require a $50 deposit.

St. Cloud Commons Splash Pad
St. Cloud Commons Splash Pad at St. Clouds Commons Park, 1701 Jackson Ave., in Huntington, is now open. It is free to the public and available from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Saturday and noon-8 p.m. on Sunday.

Barboursville Park Splash Park
The Barboursville Park Splash Park, located at County Road 31/6, Barboursville, near the basketball courts, is a splash park with several different water features. It is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. There are also canopied shelters available to rent for $100 while the splash park is open, and available to use on a first come-first served basis when not already reserved.

YMCA Kennedy Center pool
The YMCA Kennedy Center pool at 5800 Ohio River Road, Huntington, will be open from Memorial Day until Wednesday, Aug. 13. Its hours will be 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Saturday and noon-6 p.m. Sunday. Daily rates are $8 per person, while seasonal passes are offered at $175 for individuals, and $250 for families.

Beech Fork Lake
Beech Fork Lake is located at 5601 Long Branch Road, Barboursville, and open to the public year-round. The park is open daily from 6 a.m.-10 p.m.

Hurricane Sprayground
The Hurricane Sprayground is located in Hurricane City Park at 3511 W.Va. 34, Hurricane, and will be open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 1-6 p.m. on Sunday. While admission is $3 per person, it is free for all Putnam County residents as long as they are able to show identification with a Putnam County address. The Sprayground is also available to rent out for private parties from 6:15-8:15 p.m. every day, for a fee of $150.

Waves of Fun
Waves of Fun is a public swimming pool, located at 1 Valley Drive, in Hurricane, which will open June 3. It is open from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and noon-6 p.m. on Sunday. Admission rates are $8 for adults; $6 for children aged 5 through 11, seniors and those with a military ID; and children 4 and under get in for free. Seasonal passes are also offered, with family passes costing $299, individual passes costing $149 and child passes costing $99.

Charleston public pools
All City of Charleston pools will have free admission and be open from noon-6 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday; 2-7 p.m. Sunday; and closed Monday. Additionally, all pools, except for North Charleston Community Center pool, will open Saturday in time for Memorial Day. They are:

Water Ways is a water park at 628 Waterway Road in Julian, Boone County. From Memorial Day to mid-August, it will be open from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Sunday. Admission is free for children 3 and under, $6 for those under 44 inches tall and $15 for those over 44 inches tall.

Big Bend Swimming Beach
Big Bend Swimming Beach is located at the upper end of OhioÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s Lake Vesuvius in the Ironton Ranger District of the Wayne National Forest. It will open Friday, May 23, and be open from 6 a.m.-10 p.m. daily. Every vehicle must pay a $3 fee to enter the day-use area or get in for free with an America the Beautiful pass.
