CHARLESTON ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥” Huntington HighÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s quiz bowl team will compete among 13 other teams at the West Virginia Department of EducationÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s Academic Showdown finale Wednesday.
The Academic Showdown is held in partnership between the WVDE; the WV Department of Arts, Culture and History; WV Public Broadcasting; and the WV Higher Education Policy Commission.
The competing teams were regional winners of competitions hosted January through March across the state.
Morgantown High School has won first place in the competition for three years in a row.
The competition will begin at 8:25 a.m. in the WV Culture Center. At the end of the competition, five students will be named to the ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥œAll-Star team,ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ and each member will receive a commemorative plaque.
The competition will be livestreamed on WVPBÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s and broadcast live on the West Virginia Channel.
