HUNTINGTON ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥” The Cabell Wayne Association of the Blind Services Division is hosting its seventh annual Sweets for Sight event, its largest fundraiser of the year.
The online auction opened Monday morning on and ends at 2:30 p.m. Friday, but this is the first year for both the online and in-person event.
The nonprofit held its first Sweets for Sight fundraiser in 2019, but when the COVID-19 pandemic shut everything down the next year, it was moved online for 2020, where it stayed through 2024.
ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥œEvery little bit that we do raise goes directly back into serving our community and our consumers,ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ said Zach Davis, organizer and vision rehabilitation assistant.
The in-person VIP event will be at the Marshall Health Network Arena and Convention Center from 6-9 p.m. Friday.
There will be more than 20 vendors with samples or other products. Each patron gets 25 sample tasting tickets. They can vote for PeopleÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s Choice Winner, which goes to the best vendor, and there will be auction packages exclusive to the event. Live entertainment will be provided by Lee Dean, ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥œSwinging with Elvis and Johnny Cash.ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥

ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥œThis event is important to bring awareness to our community of the blind and visually impaired, so we can continue serving our community and those in need with the impairments. Without these events, we would not be able to do as much as weÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™re able to do,ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ Davis said.
ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥œWeÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™ve been around for 36 years and we want to continue serving our community and those who need our services.ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥
