Each year, USA TODAYÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s 10Best Awards highlight the best in food, travel, and hospitality, with winners chosen by public vote from a list curated by industry experts. NomadaÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s win places a Huntington-based bakery at the top of a nationwide competition ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥” above bakeries in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and beyond.

People could vote online once per day until polls closed at noon Monday, June 9. There were 20 cake shops in the running. The top 10 were announced.
For anyone checking the 10Best website for updates over the past few weeks, Nomada was in the lead from the start.
Barcenas says Nomada has about seven cake flavors it makes on rotation. Community favorites include lemon blueberry, chocolate and carrot cake.
A dedicated portion of the bakery case is reserved for gluten-free and vegan items. Customers can browse and order cakes online at or submit special requests at .
The bakery posted a message on its Facebook page thanking the community for its support.
