HUNTINGTON ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥” The Huntington City Council will meet Monday to consider expending funds from the cityÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s opioid settlement money to the cityÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s new low barrier shelter for construction, renovation and operation.

The resolution would redirect previously approved funds of $350,000 for Fiscal Year 2026 and the remainder of $350,000 of FY25 to HuntingtonÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s City Mission low-barrier shelter to the cityÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s new low-barrier shelter at 96 West 3rd Ave. The resolution also would allow the city to expend funds not to exceed $1 million for the construction, renovation and equipping of the planned emergency shelter. The money comes from the cityÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥™s portion of opioid settlement funds from the West Virginia First Foundation.
